Prepaid packs run on validity, not the calendar
Prepaid packs last a fixed number of days, often 28, 56 or 84, so the renewal date moves around the calendar. Set the pack’s expiry date as the due date in Pay Alert. After you recharge, edit the bill and enter the new expiry date.
Pay Alert’s automatic repeat is monthly. That suits postpaid and broadband bills, but not 28-day packs, so updating the date after each recharge keeps it exact.
Postpaid mobile and broadband
Postpaid mobile, fibre and broadband plans bill on a fixed day each month. Turn on Recurring monthly and mark the bill paid when you pay. If the bill is auto-paid from a card, keep the reminder anyway. It is a good moment to check the amount.
DTH and FASTag balances
DTH packs and FASTag wallets run on balance. When it runs out, channels stop, or a low FASTag balance holds you up at a toll plaza. Add a reminder around the date you usually top up, and move it forward after each recharge.
Family numbers
Recharging for parents or children? Add each number as its own bill, for example “Amma – Jio”, so every expiry has a reminder.
Set it up in Pay Alert
- Tap + and give the bill a short name, for example “Amma – Jio”.
- Enter the plan price and the due date.
- For postpaid and broadband, turn on Recurring monthly. For prepaid packs, leave it off and set the new expiry date after each recharge.
- In Settings → Notifications, choose your Reminder time and the Scheduled alerts you want: 5, 3 or 1 day before, on the due date and every day once overdue.
- When you pay, tap Mark as Paid. It moves to your payment history, grouped by month.

Pay Alert does not connect to these providers, read your SMS or make payments. You add the name, amount and due date yourself, and reminders are scheduled on your iPhone.
Questions
Can Pay Alert remind me before my 28-day prepaid plan expires?
Yes. Add the expiry date as the due date. After recharging, edit the bill and set the new expiry date. Automatic repeat is monthly, so it does not fit 28-day packs.
Does Pay Alert recharge my number?
No. Recharge in your operator’s app or any payment app, then mark the bill as paid in Pay Alert.
Can I track several family numbers?
Yes. Add each number as its own bill with its own expiry or due date.
