Auto-renew is convenient, and easy to forget
Most subscriptions renew automatically on a card or UPI mandate. That suits the ones you use and costs you for the ones you don’t. A reminder a few days before renewal is your chance to decide.
Free trials
When you start a free trial, add its end date to Pay Alert straight away. You will be reminded before the first charge, while there is still time to cancel.
Monthly and yearly plans
For monthly plans, turn on Recurring monthly. For yearly plans, leave repeat off and add next year’s renewal date after it renews.
Subscriptions billed through Apple
For subscriptions bought in iPhone apps, open Settings → your name → Subscriptions to see each renewal date, then add it to Pay Alert.
Set it up in Pay Alert
- Tap + and give the bill a short name, for example “Netflix”.
- Enter the plan price and the due date.
- Turn on Recurring monthly. Marking this month as paid creates next month’s entry automatically. For yearly plans, leave it off.
- In Settings → Notifications, choose your Reminder time and the Scheduled alerts you want: 5, 3 or 1 day before, on the due date and every day once overdue.
- When you pay, tap Mark as Paid. It moves to your payment history, grouped by month.

Pay Alert does not connect to these providers, read your SMS or make payments. You add the name, amount and due date yourself, and reminders are scheduled on your iPhone.
Questions
Can Pay Alert cancel a subscription?
No. Pay Alert reminds you before the renewal. Cancel in the service’s app or website, or in iPhone Settings for App Store subscriptions.
Does Pay Alert find my subscriptions automatically?
No. Pay Alert does not read your bank statements, email or SMS. You add each subscription yourself.
Can I track a free trial?
Yes. Add the trial end date as the due date with an amount of the first charge, and you will be reminded before it.
